G.H. Bass Loafers

The Bass Weejun (or Penny Loafer) is a flat, slip-on shoe that works well with a range of outfits and occasions. It was in 1876 that craftsman George Henry Bass brought a small team of designers and manufacturers together with a vision to create the world’s best shoe. Their pursuit endeavoured to encompass the American spirit, fearlessly discovering new trends rather than following old ones. In 1936, the company invented the first ever penny loafer (nick named the ‘Weejun’), a classic saddle moccasin with a flexible construction and stitched sole. You may have seen penny loafers in iconic movies and advertising from the 1950s onwards, with many famous women such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn wearing them on screen. It is for this reason, as well as their sophisticated, minimalist shape and chic timelessness that the Bass Weejun never goes out of style.

We are so pleased to be able to offer a range of Bass Weejuns by G.H Bass in multiple styles and colours. If you're looking for a comfortable, modern shoe for the workplace, you may like to browse our deeply coloured leather selection. These slip ons look fantastic with a power suit and are sure to impress your clients and colleagues. Alternatively, for that casual weekend look, try a Bass Weejun in stunning pink or gold to really complete your outfit.
