Any two dimensional measuring tool like a ruler is only an approximation of your size. Across different manufacturers the lasts and patterns vary slightly so sizing may also vary as a result. We recommend you try your shoes on a carpeted surface to avoid marking the soles and uppers first to test the fit before wear.
I’ve worn Mephisto for years and the Cruiser in brown might be the best yet. The leather feels thick and premium straight out of the box, with that lovely mammoth grain giving it real character. It looks smart enough for work but relaxed enough for weekends, which is exactly what I was after.
The comfort is where it really stands out. The Soft Air technology genuinely makes a difference, especially if you are on your feet all day. There is a noticeable cushioning underfoot and the padded collar gives good support without feeling bulky. After a full day walking around town, my feet still felt fresh.
The sole has a slightly more rugged feel than the Rainbow, which I actually prefer. It gives better grip in wet weather and feels more substantial overall. The comfort width fitting is spot on too, with enough room without feeling sloppy.
These are not cheap, but you can tell where the money goes. Proper craftsmanship, excellent materials and all day comfort. I would happily buy this style again.
