Any two dimensional measuring tool like a ruler is only an approximation of your size. Across different manufacturers the lasts and patterns vary slightly so sizing may also vary as a result. We recommend you try your shoes on a carpeted surface to avoid marking the soles and uppers first to test the fit before wear.
Bought a pair of these last month and all in all, very happy with my purchase. They are advertised as waterproof and although I don't tend to go wading through deep puddles, they're absolutely fine whilst walking the dog in wet fields. I found the colour to improve with age as it scuffs and darkens a little with wear.
Only downside is that they're £140+ which is Timberland territory.
