Any two dimensional measuring tool like a ruler is only an approximation of your size. Across different manufacturers the lasts and patterns vary slightly so sizing may also vary as a result. We recommend you try your shoes on a carpeted surface to avoid marking the soles and uppers first to test the fit before wear.
My son has worn these shoes for school for 6 weeks and they're still as good as new. Trust me, he can destroy shoes in a week so these definitely stand up to muster.
