It was almost a hundred years ago that the John White brand was founded in Northamptonshire. During the Second World War, 10% of the shoes worn by British Forces were John Whites, and by the end of the war, they accounted for 90% of all shoe exports to America. Given their popularity, it was only natural that the brand should go global - a far stretch from their humble beginnings just two decades earlier.
Chelsea boots, on the other hand, span back to the Victorian era. It was J. Sparkes-Hall who created the boot for Queen Victoria. Soon enough, the innovative new design became trendy throughout the cities and the iconic style to this day is as ever popular as it was.
The dark brown Chelsea by John White has been hand crafted from the highest quality full grain brown leather, and features traditional brown side gussets and a smooth vamp. The boot has a traditional pull tab at the back which makes it easy for you to pull it on and off. What makes it slightly different from a classic Chelsea is that instead of a round toe, this formal boot has a more elongated, contemporary toe, lending it sophistication and extra definition.
As you would expect from a boot of this standard, the interior is fully leather lined, and the sole and heel are made from sturdy rubber. We recommend pairing a dark brown Chelsea boot with a smart business suit; preferably one with slim fit trousers to compliment the shape of the boot's toe.
