Any two dimensional measuring tool like a ruler is only an approximation of your size. Across different manufacturers the lasts and patterns vary slightly so sizing may also vary as a result. We recommend you try your shoes on a carpeted surface to avoid marking the soles and uppers first to test the fit before wear.
Worn Mephisto Heidi sandals for years and decided to try the Helen in white and so glad I did. There are cheaper examples on the internet which is why I give just 4 stars for price, but I have awkward feet so always spend a little extra for better materials. My concern was that that the white would get dirty quickly, but I'm pleased to report that 5 weeks in they're staying relatively mint and fresh :)
